TEMPORARY WORKS ENGINEERING

The objective of Ozgur Engineering Ltd is to provide temporary works designs for the construction industry, encompassing both heavy civil and general construction. Our goal is to become the go-to consultant for all your temporary works engineering requirements, with the aim of delivering integrated design solutions.

Our engineering services are:

Formwork, scaffolding, propping, back-propping, hoarding, needling design.
Concrete anchor design.
Static load test design and site supervision.
Lifeline and fall protection, access platforms, debris shield design.
Staged demolition design.
Crane procedures including outrigger support mat, lifting beams and lifting lugs.
Tower crane foundation and tie design.
Bridge launching and heavy lifting operations. Bridge jacking and temporary bridges.
Structural design for repair and erection works.
Design of various types of excavation support including soldier piles, sheet piles, liner plates and ground anchors, helical piles, secant and contiguous piles.
Slope stability checks.

Underpinning with helical piles, steel mini piles, mass concrete and resin injection.
Pile load test planning and design as well as inspection and monitoring during the load test.
Pile driving template design in marine environments.
Working platform design (BRE BR470) for tracked plant including the use of geo-synthetics.
Haul road design using geo-cells, reducing the stone thickness required up to 30%.
Third-party design checks including CAT 3 checks for temporary works per BS 5975.
Crane on barge stability analysis.
Designs are done in accordance with Euro Codes and British Standards as well as CIRIA, BRE, NASC and TWf guides.

As a specialized engineering consultancy, our primary objective is to actively engage in construction planning from the early stages, with a strong emphasis on delivering cost-effective and seamlessly integrated design solutions in Temporary Works Design and Construction Engineering.

Our Director, Mr. Ozgur Selmanpakoglu, has been a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York State since 2008, with over twenty years of total experience. In 2011, he embarked on his consulting engineering career by founding Ozgur Engineering in New York City, where he provided structural and ground engineering services involving temporary works. In 2019, Ozgur Engineering relocated to the UK, operating from its London-based location and bringing extensive international construction experience to clients, encompassing both general construction and infrastructure projects.

Since 2020 Ozgur Engineering Ltd has been involved in designing and checking various temporary works in major infrastructure projects in the UK. Some of these were tower crane foundation, complex scaffolding, hoarding, formwork, working platform for tracked plant, crane lift and outrigger mats, support of excavation (legato blocks, sheet piles, contig pile walls, ground anchors etc), bridge erection, cofferdam, service crossings and assessment of existing structures for temporary construction loads.
